1.1 billion Euros of foreign trade in January

Total foreign trade of Serbia in January of this year amounted to over $ 1.1 billion, or 0.8% less than is the same period last year, was announced by the Republic Institute for Statistics.

During January, Serbia exported goods worth 398.5 million Euros, while imports were worth 738.8 million Euros. Percentage term, exports compared to January last year rose by 10.7%, while imports decreased by 6.1%.The deficit amounted to 340.3 million Euros, which is 20.3% less than in the same period last year.

The main foreign trade partners in exports were Italy, Germany and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and import Russian Federation, Germany and Italy.

The largest surplus in the exchange was achieved with Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia, while the highest deficit was recorded in trade with Russia for energy imports, primarily oil and gas.

Secondary partner of Serbia are the countries of CEFTA agreement, with which surplus in the exchange was $ 60 million, which is the result of mainly exports agricultural products, cereals and products of them, as well as various kinds of drinks.
