The Italian-Serbian Chamber of Commerce will open an office in Leskovac, in the Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry Leskovac
After Čačak and Valjevo, Leskovac will be the third city in Serbia where the Italian-Serbian will open the office in. That is why, in the Leskovac Chamber, an agreement with the Secretary of the Italian - Serbian Association, Pietro Vacchiano, has been signed. The Italian-Serbian Chamber has been operating in Serbia since 2002. It brings together several hundred members, and its main task is to help businessmen from Italy in solving the problems related to doing business in Serbia, and to help Serbian businessmen in finding contacts and partners in Italy. At a meeting with businessmen from southern Serbia, it has been said that the task will be to provide office support and strengthen the cooperation between Serbian and Italian businessmen in joint ventures, to open a Serbian-Italian mixed company, provide consulting services to companies, with the aim of strengthening mutual cooperation and to increase foreign exchange. In terms of foreign trade of the economy of this region, for several years Italy has been holding an important position. In the period from January to June 2010 the total value of foreign exchange of the region covered by Leskovac Chamber with Italy amounted to $ 30.5 million, which is a 20.5% increase when compared to the same period last year.
Exported goods are worth $ 12.5 million, which is 15% more than last year, while imports of goods from Italy amount to the total value of $ 18.1 million, which is 24.8% higher when compared to the same period last year. The largest volume of import and export companies has been realized in the wood processing industry and furniture production, agricultural production and the production of textiles and footwear. A delegation from Italy also visited the Pčinja district and met up with the companies from this area which cooperate with partners from Italy. |
